Hello Acton!

We're back! And this time it's BIGGER and better than before. With more tents, more fun and (hopefully) more sun. So step away from the laptop and channel your inner Bear Grylls + Shaun Ryder - Escape Acton is just the tonic we all need! 

Acton is amazing, we love it! And over a beer, a few of us decided it would be great to organise a weekend away for all the lovely people we've met who make this such a special place to live. This is a weekend where the kids can play in amongst the hay bales and the adults can legitimately drink all day.

The campsite

Nestled a mile south of the beautiful market town of Blanford, Charisworth campsite is a mixture of rustic charm and working farm. Just a few miles from Bournemouth and the Jurassic Coast, the campsite is close enough for a quick swim at the beach but there's no need to do that because we've hired out the entire campsite for the weekend and we've got loads on offer!

The campsite has the following facilities:

  • Hot showers

  • Flushing toilets

  • 80 litre tea urn for hot water

  • Drinking water

  • Fridge / freezer

  • Plug sockets (nr the farm building)

Note: there is no onsite shop and nearest is 2.5 miles away. You can purchase supplies from the food trucks but we advise to bring plenty of supplies.

There is also a working farm with an abundance of livestock including cattle, sheep, pigs, turkeys, chicken and geese (trust me, they'll keep the kids busy for hours!). You can buy wood and charcoal directly from the farm, friendly dogs are allowed on site (must be on a lead) and bikes are also fine. You can bring your own BBQ and there are a limited number of fire pits available from the campsite.

Things to do...

We've got loads to do for the whole family. Including wood-fired pizzas, kids entertainment, a fully stocked bar, live music and DJs and even fresh coffee for the morning after.
